The 790/890 platform has been plagued by reliability issues which has been well documented on the internet. The only issue I’ve had on this specific bike was a failure on one of the front brake lines due to metal fatigue. KTM assessed the failure and concluded that the brake line was too short. This caused tension on the brake line every time

Replacing a KTM dirt bike is something most of us did every 2-4 years. Hondas were handed down to kids, yamaha was hit or miss. My concern (if not obvious) is: Does this transfer to the street as well? I *just* sold my K1600GTL, and was seriously eyeballing the new R1200GSW when the 1190 Adventure caught my attention.

The Super Adventure 1290's are tuned a little more for low end grunt than the Super Dukes. but they are mainly street-oriented, and with the S moreso than the R. I think the S has cast wheels with a 19" front and he R has spokes. Not sure about sizes. Super Dukes have cast 17" wheels at both ends.

Oddometer: 327. Location: Switzerland. When I bought my bike it hadn't moved in more than 1 year and the brakes were mushy. I bleed them 3 4 times and after a couple days the lever kept softening again. Brought it once to the dealer for a preload adjuster issue and asked them to bleed the brakes too. Told me the abs module was full of air, took
788 Alright, the moment you have all been waiting for, MY review of the 1290 Super Adventure R VS the KTM 1090 ADV R. I actually feel like a fool for having never really looked into the 1290. When I first saw them with that headlight and 1290 in the name, I just assumed it would be ugly and heavy. I was partially wrong.
The dealer is giving me a sweet deal for the KTM (arriving in January), because the price difference between the 2 is only $3800, and that includes the Tech Pack for the KTM. If it would have been a 2022 890 adv, I would have gone with the T7, because I find the 890 wind protection much more problematic for me (very noisy and difficult to manage).
